Samoa's news, weather, government notices, jobs, tenders and farm data are scattered across sources. Samoa.si pulls them into one phone-first hub that refreshes itself.
The challenge
Where they started
Information a Samoan farmer or small business actually needs is spread across weather services, government notices, tender listings, job boards and news sites, most of which are painful on a phone. The brief was not another news site — it was one hub that answers 'is it going to rain, has a tender been posted, what is happening' in a few taps, and keeps working on a weak connection.

An app shell, not a mobile website
A sticky desktop bar and a five-tab bottom bar on phones, with the same card language across every section so the site behaves like an installed app.

Automatic refresh
Content is refreshed from source automatically, so the hub stays current without someone manually republishing.

Phone-first testing as part of the build
Screenshots at true phone widths and scripted overflow checks at 390px and 1440px, because most of this audience never sees the desktop layout.
