Vea Funeral Home — off WordPress onto Flask without losing a single URL
A South Auckland funeral home was running on WordPress, WooCommerce and Elementor, paying a plugin tax for a shop it did not need. We rebuilt it on Flask and redirected every legacy URL.
The challenge
Where they started
The site sold caskets through WooCommerce, which meant the whole checkout apparatus existed to collect one enquiry. Elementor added page weight, and the plugin stack was a maintenance liability for a small family business. But a funeral home cannot afford to lose its search history — every WordPress permalink, product URL and old query-string page is a family that found them once.

Legacy URLs redirected
WordPress permalinks, ?page_id= addresses, product URLs and retired cart and checkout paths all 301 to their new equivalents.

A quote builder instead of a checkout
Casket-to-quote deep links replace the WooCommerce cart — the enquiry is the conversion, so the funnel ends in a human conversation.

Tests on the parts that matter
Smoke tests cover routes, verbatim prices, deep links, retired redirects and the quote builder, because a wrong price on a funeral site is not a cosmetic bug.
